Stream Stash is designed for entertainment lovers who want to effortlessly track, organize, and discover their favorite shows and movies. As its creative partner, I developed a brand identity and product experience that balances sleek usability with a playful personality. My work includes designing the app interface, refining its visual system, and shaping features that keep users engaged: from personalized watchlists to curated themes that highlight what’s trending.

PROBLEM

Today, streaming is all about choice, and for most viewers, there are more options than ever before. With content spread across countless platforms and devices, what should be a golden age of entertainment has become overwhelming. While this abundance is great, the fragmentation of services has made it increasingly difficult for users to keep track of what they want to watch, where to find it, and what’s worth their time. Stream Stash solves this by bringing clarity and simplicity to content discovery and management.

UNIVERSAL SEARCH

A universal search that unifies content from multiple services and streaming providers (Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock etc), providing a single point of entry to discover new content.

PERSONALIZATION

A watchlist that notifies users of any upcoming releases and content from services they are subscribed to, allowing curation of personalized content.

TAILORED RECOMMENDATIONS

Offering users tailored based on genre preferences, watch history, community polls, and friend suggestions, enabling users to be shown content that is aligned with what they enjoy.

MODULAR
DESIGN
SYSTEM

Stream Stash App Design System was built to accommodate scalability, so components can work well alongside each other, at the same time, render well on various device resolutions.

DARK COLOR SCHEME

I intentionally chose a dark theme for the app since our users tend to engage in the app during evenings and nights. A room with dimmed lights and a brighter theme would have been too harsh on the eyes.

SKETCH SYMBOLS

I started by building a comprehensive components library within Sketch that would later reflect in various parts of the app i.e., colors, typography, setting the grid, etc. This included icons, buttons, form elements, error and empty states, show cards and content cards.

USER
ONBOARDING
EXPERIENCE

Watchlist is a core utility of Stream Stash's app, allowing users to add shows/movies and set alerts to be notified of any new releases. I designed an experience that was simple, yet fun! Users can swipe up to like a show/movie, or swipe down to dismiss it. Any items that were liked were automatically added to the user's watchlist.

While this feature was initially introduced during user onboarding, my research found that users actually enjoy the process and wanted it to be accessible after onboarding was complete. Now, they are able to access this feature in the Watchlist Tab of the app, for whenever they want to quickly swipe to add new shows/movies to their watchlist.

INTUITIVE UI

Stream Stash delivers an intuitive user experience designed for effortless navigation. With a clean interface and thoughtfully placed actions, users can quickly track shows, build watchlists, and discover tailored recommendations without friction. Every interaction is streamlined to feel natural, ensuring the app enhances the joy of watching rather than complicating it.
